Kingsport Theatre Guild is seeking submissions for its 2016 playwriting competition.

(Submission form below RULES)

To further interest in community theatre, encourage playwriting as an aspect of community theatre and promote the production of new plays by community theatres, KTG is holding its inaugural Playwriting Contest. All submitted plays will be adjudicated by an independent panel of five judges. No musicals are eligible for this contest. The First Prize winner will receive a full stage production of their script as part of Fun Fest activities, while Second and Third Prize winners will receive full staged readings of their scripts as part of Pre-Fun Fest activities. All scripts MUST have a reference to Fun Fest mascot “Festus” (the sun man) in some form, whether it be a character name, a stuffed Festus, a reference in dialog, a picture on set, etc. Creativity is encouraged.
