Kingsport Theatre Guild, in association with Big Small Town Studios, presents the 2016 KTG Student Film Camp.

Kingsport, TN- Kingsport Theatre Guild, in association with Big Small Town Studios, presents the 2016 KTG Student Film Camp taking place June 20-24, 2016. This one-week camp for middle- and high-school students offers a unique experience, during which they will learn all of the crucial skills required to produce their own visual works of art.

Students will meet real film producers, directors, actors, editors, cinematographers and other skilled filmmaking professionals from right here in the Tri-Cities region. Through workshops and classroom sessions, campers will learn to develop and write their own scripts, cast their films with student actors auditioning for roles, plan and execute their film shoots, organize and edit footage into a finished product, and market their films to a wide audience.

Students will be taught how to responsibly and safely use real filmmaking equipment, including DSLR cameras, digital audio recorders, slates, microphones, editing stations and more. By the end of their weeklong journey, students will have worked as a cohesive team to produce their very own 3-5 minute short films, which will be screened for parents, friends and guests on Friday, June 24.

Camp mentors and workshop presenters are provided by Big Small Town Studios, which was founded in 2012 with the creation of the production house’s first project: an online digital series called The Stranger.

Camp will start Monday, June 20, 2016 and run through Friday, June 24, 2016. Campers will attend Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and will need to pack a bagged lunch each day. Cost for the camp is $200. Campers can register online at KingsportTheatre.org, in person at KTG’s office (Renaissance Center, 1200 East Center Street, Suite 211, Kingsport) or send an e-mail to KingsportTheatreGuild@gmail.com.
